How to use Zelda Level Editor 2 to edit map textures

Required software:
 - Zelda Level Editor 2 (ZLE2 for short)
 - 1964 Version 0.9.9 or Nemu Version 0.8
 - GIMP Version 2 and above*

* I suggest Gimp 2, because, number 1, it's free making it accessible to
everyone, and number 2, other programs tested didn't work right with
Texture Import. For instance Texture Import didn't like the way MS-Paint
handles .PNGs, and it didn't like the way Adobe Photoshop 5 handled .BMPs.
Other graphic editors may work, but you will have to experiment to find out.
Trust me, Gimp 2 is very good.

Other requirements:
 - The Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time Debugger's ROM

Dumping textures from the ROM:

 1. Open ZLE2's folder

 2. Open ZLE2, and choose Launch Emulator. This will launch 1964, but ZLE2
will remain running in the background. DO NOT close ZLE2.

 3. Make 1964 active, and load the ROM with 1964.

 4. After the ROM loads, start playing the game. Go to the level where you
   wish to edit the textures.

 5. Make ZLE2 active again, and choose Load Zmap

 6. Choose Dump. This dumps the loaded map files for other tools to work
   with.

 7. Close ZLE2.

 8. Close 1964.

 9. Open Texture Export, found in the ZLE2 folder. Select Dump Textures.
The program will automatically close when it is done exporting the
    textures.

 10. Open the Textures sub-folder, found in the ZLE2 folder. In this folder
you will find all the texture files dumped from the map level files in
     .PNG and .BMP formats.

Editing textures:

Which steps you take next use depends on the file type you wish to edit,
please note the different restrictions and procedures for editing each type:

 - For .PNG files: Open and edit using Adobe Photoshop* version 5.0 or above.

 - For .BMP files: Open and edit using MS-Paint*. When editing textures
dumped into the .BMP format, do not change the default palette, as palette
changes will not be preserved when the texture is imported back into the
   game.

When editing either the .PNG or .BMP files do not alter the width or height
of the image.

Saving changes to textures:

When you have finished editing a texture, and are ready to save, be sure to
save the file in the same format, .PNG or .BMP, it was originally opened in.
Also be sure not to make changes to the color depth.

Inserting textures back into the ROM:

(Note: Never edit your only original copy of the ROM. Always make a second
copy of the ROM to make changes to.)

 1. If you edited any .PNG files, Open.PNG2RAW, found in the ZLE2 folder and
    select Convert.

 2. If you edited any .BMP files, Open.BMP2RAW, found in the ZLE2 folder and
    select Convert.

 3. Open Texture Import, found in the ZLE2 folder and select Import.

 4. Open the ROM in any N64 emulator. Play the level you chose to edit.
You should see your textures appear in the game.

Clearing texture and map files:

It is a good practice to clear all the texture and map files, when you are
finished editing the textures. Clearing the texture and map files will
avoid confusion as to which files are from the map you are currently
editing, and which files are from previous maps.

 - To clear the texture and map files, Open Clear Files, found in the ZLE2
folder. Select Delete all files. The program will automatically close when
it is done clearing the files.
